CURE CANCER with Pineapple Enzymes! HOW Pineapple Enzymes can KILL CANCER CELLS & Save Your Life?

Bromelain in Pineapples Helps in Cancer Treatment. HOW Pineapple Enzymes can KILL CANCER TUMORS & Save Your Life? Bromelain in Pineapples Kills Cancer Cells Without Harming You One such compound is bromelain, an enzyme that can be extracted from pineapple stems. Research published in the journal Planta Medica found that bromelain was superior to the chemotherapy drug 5-fluorauracil in treating cancer in an animal study.1 Researchers stated: "This antitumoral effect [of bromelain] was superior to that of 5-FU [5-fluorouracil], whose survival index was approximately 263 %, relative to the untreated control." What makes this impact particularly impressive is that the bromelain worked without causing additional harm to the animals. The chemo drug 5-fluorauracil, on the other hand, has a relatively unsuccessful and dangerous track record despite being used for nearly 40 years. As written by GreenMedInfo: "As a highly toxic, fluoride-bound form of the nucleic acid uracil, a normal component of RNA, the drug is supposed to work by tricking more rapidly dividing cells -- which include both cancer and healthy intestinal, hair follicle, and immune cells -- into taking it up, thereby inhibiting (read: poisoning) RNA replication enzymes and RNA synthesis.… When a person dies following conventional cancer treatment it is all too easy to "blame the victim" and simply write that patient's cancer off as "chemo-resistant," or "exceptionally aggressive," when in fact the non-selective nature of the chemotoxic agent is what ultimately lead to their death." Selective cytotoxicity is indeed a property that is only found among natural compounds; no chemotherapy drug yet developed is capable of this effect. Aside from bromelain, other examples of natural compounds that have been found to kill cancer cells without harming healthy cells include: • Vitamin C -- Dr. Ronald Hunninghake carried out a 15-year research project called RECNAC (cancer spelled backwards). His groundbreaking research in cell cultures showed that vitamin C was selectively cytotoxic against cancer cells. • Eggplant extract: Solasodine rhamnosyl glycosides (BEC), which is a fancy name for extracts from plants of the Solanaceae family, such as eggplant, tomato, potato, Bell peppers, and tobacco, also impact only cancerous cells leaving normal cells alone. Eggplant extract cream appears to be particularly useful in treating skin cancer. Dr. Bill E. Cham, a leading researcher in this area, explains: "The mode of action of SRGs [glycoalkaloids solasodine rhamnosy glycosides (BEC)] is unlike any current antineoplastic [anti-tumor] agent. Specific receptors for the SRGs present only on cancer cells but not normal cells are the first step of events that lead to apoptosis in cancer cells only, and this may explain why during treatment the cancer cells were being eliminated and normal cells were replacing the killed cancer cells with no scar tissue being formed." • Turmeric (Curcumin Extract): Of all the natural cancer fighters out there, this spice has been the most intensely researched for exhibiting selective cytotoxicity.2 Remarkably, in a 2011 study published in the Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry, rats administered curcumin, the primary polyphenol in turmeric, saw a decrease in experimentally-induced brain tumors in 9 out of 11 treated, while noting that the curcumin did not affect the viability of brain cells "suggesting that curcumin selectively targets the transformed [cancerous] cells." How Enzymes Might Help Treat Cancer Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme (an enzyme that digests proteins). In the Planta Medica study, it was injected directly into the abdominal cavity. Getting enzymes from your digestive tract into your bloodstream isn't as easy as it would seem, as enzymes are very susceptible to denaturing and must be helped to survive the highly acidic environment in your stomach. They are often given an "enteric coating" to help them survive the journey through your digestive tract. And then, there is the matter of absorption. For nearly 100 years, medical dogma insisted that enzymes taken orally were too large to pass through the digestive tract wall. However, there is now a good deal of research that they can indeed pass through your intestine intact3 and into your bloodstream and lymphatic system, where they can deliver their services to the rest of your body... one of the mysteries of medical science. Now that we know this is possible, systemic oral enzymes have been used to treat problems ranging from sports injuries to arthritis to heart disease and cancer, particularly in European countries. But most of the research has been published in non-English language journals.

Baking Soda CANCER CURE, HOW Using BAKING SODA to Help Heal CANCER & Suppresses CANCER Growth Rate?

Using Baking Soda to Help Heal Cancer! One of the foundations of good health is maintaining proper pH balance in the body. The ideal pH for the blood is said to be slightly alkaline, at around 7.4 pH, but creating the ideal pH in the body on a regular basis can be tricky. The toxins we are exposed to through food, environment, lifestyle and stress can quickly create an overly-acidic situation within, which is exactly the kind of environment cancer cells love to thrive in. Including alkaline-rich foods such as kale and spinach in your diet and reducing your toxic load can bring balance to your pH and is a must-do for anyone wishing to prevent or heal Breast Cancer. When Breast Cancer does occur, the targeted administration of baking soda using the protocols designed by Italian oncologist Dr. Tullio Simoncini can be a powerful option. Dr. Simoncini and the Candida-Cancer Connection To understand how Dr. Simoncini’s Baking Soda protocol works, it is important to first understand what this world- renowned oncologist (who specializes in cancer, diabetes and metabolic disorders) believes is the real cause of cancer: “Cancer is a fungus that will do what all fungi do─ form colonies and spread throughout the host area.” Dr. Simoncini first made the connection between fungal growth and cancer after he noticed that, time and again, the inside of his patients’ cancer tumors appeared milky-white. In fact, the substance looked similar to the fungus candida albicans. Simoncini then started to make more connections between candida and cancer, like the fact that both cancer and candida thrive under acidic conditions and they both obtain their energy through sugar glucose intake and the process of fermentation (the exact opposite of how healthy cells grow). In addition, fungi such as candida produce mycotoxins, which research shows has an indirect connection to cancer. They also both have the ability to effect protein production within cells, which can lead to DNA damage. Many other studies are now beginning to make the connection between candida and cancer, showing that between 79 to 97% of all cancer patients also have candida. Others make the connection between cancer and high levels of infection in general. The Dr. Simoncini’s Baking Soda Protocol The use of baking soda relies on one of the basic premises of natural medicine (and of the 7 Essentials™ System): if you wish to slow the growth of tumor cells, change their environment to one where it would be impossible for them to survive. In the case of cancer, this means changing that environment from one that is acidic to one that is alkaline. Dr. Simoncini believes that the best way to do this is to administer sodium bicarbonate as close to the actual tumor site as possible. One reason for this is the fact that in order to directly effect cancer tumor growth, the change in tumor pH must be done quickly. According to Simoncini, candida (and all fungi) are “social elements.” Their strength lies in their ability to quickly adapt. The Simoncini Protocol is usually done under the careful guidance of a qualified professional. A catheter is used to administer sodium bicarbonate through the arteries directly into the tumors, in a suggested ratio of 500 ml x 5% sodium bicarbonate for a time period of 6 days on, 6 days off for a total of for 4 cycles. Breast cancer tumors in particular have proven to be especially vulnerable to the Simoncini sodium bicarbonate protocol and often a basic injection into the tumor area itself instead of a catheter or IV can do the trick. Dr. Simoncini claims that this method has a 99% success rate for healing Breast Cancer. In fact, one of my first coaching clients who lives in Slovakia, had this procedure done and her large breast tumor shrunk and her body healed. Baking Soda for Breast Cancer Prevention The success of the Simoncini Baking Soda Protocol on cancer tumors with direct administration into the tumor area natural treatment for breast canceris quite compelling. The debate continues, however, as to what effect oral administration of baking soda has on tumor growth itself. However, recent studies have proven the effectiveness of oral administration, including a 2009 study conducted through the University of Arizona. This study found that the oral intake of NaHCO3 (i.e. baking soda) increased the pH of tumors in mice. This led to a drastic reduction in cancer metastasis as well as a reduction in the rate of lymph node involvement. It had no effect on circulating tumor cells, however, leading researchers to speculate that NaHCO3’s power for preventing metastasis, even when taken orally, still resides at the actual tumor site. One thing is for certain, however. Adding a daily dose of baking soda to your Healthy Breast protocol can increase overall pH levels, which can help keep cancer from ever affecting you.

Pomegranate JUICE Help Fight PROSTATE CANCER! POMEGRANATE Juice May Slow Prostate CANCER Progression

Pomegranate juice may slow prostate cancer progression! According to a study presented at the American Urological Association’s annual meeting in 2009, drinking 8 ounces of pomegranate juice a day may slow the progression of prostate cancer. The study included 48 men who had a rising prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level following radiation therapy or surgery to treat localized prostate cancer. At the start of the study in 2003, the men had PSA levels greater than 0.2 and less than 5.0 ng/ml, and an average PSA doubling time of 15.4 months. (PSA doubling time is a measure of cancer’s activity, with shorter times indicating more aggressive behavior.) In 2006, researchers reported that the men who drank 8 ounces of pomegranate juice daily had slower PSA doubling times. Since then, researchers continued to follow the participants, 15 of whom stuck with the study for as long as 64 months. They found that the PSA doubling times of the men who kept drinking pomegranate juice were about four times longer than the PSA doubling times at the study’s start — and longer than the PSA doubling times of the men who stopped drinking the juice. For those who want to try pomegranate juice, one note of caution: it’s high in calories. An 8-ounce glass of POM Wonderful, the juice used in the study, contains 160 calories, 50 calories more than a typical glass of orange juice. Pomegranate juice: A cure for prostate cancer? Is it true that pomegranate juice may slow the growth of prostate cancer? How much should I drink? Some research suggests that drinking pomegranate juice may slow the progression of prostate cancer. For example, in a study of men with recurrent prostate cancer and rising prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels, researchers found that taking pomegranate juice extract significantly slowed the rate at which PSA was rising (PSA doubling time). A longer PSA doubling time can indicate that the cancer may be progressing less rapidly. But this study did not use a control or placebo group. Nor did it measure overall survival. Another study found that the length of time it took for PSA to double after surgery or radiation for prostate cancer was significantly longer in men who drank 8 ounces (237 milliliters) of pomegranate juice daily for up to two years. Other studies have found that certain compounds in pomegranate juice inhibited the growth of prostate cancer cells in the laboratory. Although these results are encouraging, they're only preliminary. Several additional clinical trials are underway, and it's too early to say if pomegranate juice can definitely slow the growth of prostate cancer. It's also unclear whether drinking pomegranate juice alters the course of prostate cancer overall so that men live longer or better. If you choose to drink pomegranate juice, talk with your doctor first. Although pomegranate juice is generally safe, there is evidence that it may affect how your body processes certain prescription medications. Those medications include the blood thinner warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven) and some drugs used to treat high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

CANCER CURE? Natural Compound, Capsaicin in HOT SAUCE Can KILL CANCER CELLS! Protect Against CANCER

Cancer breakthrough: CHILLIES can 'self-destruct' cancer cells - scientists discovery. Natural Compound, Capsaicin in HOT SAUCE Can KILL CANCER CELLS. Capsaicin, the active ingredient that gives chillies their bite, surrounds the deadly growths and makes them 'self-destruct', scientists have claimed. The research, from Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany, found the eye-watering component can trigger certain defenses in the cell membranes that surround cancerous cells. Lead researcher Dr Lea Weber, was very enthusiastic about the findings. Commenting on the research in the journal Breast Cancer - Targets and Therapy, she said: "Capsaicin is capable of inducing cell death and inhibiting cancer cell growth in many different types of cancer. "For example, osteosarcoma, colon, and pancreatic cancer cells, while normal cells remain unharmed." According to scientists, the active tongue-tingling ingredient triggers a cell receptor known as TRPV1, which influences the substances cancer cells can feed on. In turn, the cancerous growth fights to battle it and eventually self-destructs. As they all self-destruct, the growth of the cancerous tumour is completely stunted. But before you go stocking up on chilies - there's a catch. Researchers say capsaicin isn't effective if eaten.. Instead it must be formulated into an oral tablet and form of a wider anti-cancer treatment, alongside other drugs that target the cells. Dr Weber explained: "In this study, we aimed to identify the TRP channels in different breast cancer subtypes and to investigate the effect of TRPV1 ligand (capsaicin) on breast cancer progression. "To our knowledge, no studies have yet conducted a large-scale comparative study of the TRP channels expression profiles in breast cancer cell lines. "In all our experiments, a significant reduction in cell proliferation after capsaicin stimulation was observed. "This finding was in accordance with the results of other scientists, who demonstrated a significant decrease in the cell growth rate of MCF-7 breast cancer cells upon capsaicin stimulation." The research comes after news the SNP cancer treatment policy is in crisis as more thousands receive delayed care. Reportedly, more than 9,000 cancer patients have waited longer than they should since the SNP launched a 'new approach' to beating the disease. Chillies could STOP breast cancer: Spicy ingredient can cause 'bad cells to self-destruct' THE spicy ingredient in chillies could stop breast cancer in its tracks by causing the diseased cells to self destruct, scientists revealed. Capsaicin, the compound that gives chilli its kick, can switch on specialised channels surrounding cancer cells causing them to die. But before you spice up your food, researchers think it will only be effective as a pill attached to another drug that targets cancer cells. Scientists from Ruhr-University in Bochum, Germany, treated human samples of breast cancer cells with the hot ingredient to find out more about its ability to destroy cancer cells. Dr Lea Weber, writing in the journal Breast Cancer - Targets and Therapy, said: "Capsaicin is capable of inducing apoptosis (cell death) and inhibiting cancer cell growth in many different types of cancer, for example, osteosarcoma, colon, and pancreatic cancer cells, while normal cells remained unharmed. When capsaicin reaches a cancer cell, the spicy ingredient attaches itself to the edge of the cell known as the cell membrane and switches on a cell receptor called TRPV1. The receptor TRPV1 is a channel that controls what substances such as calcium and sodium go in and out of the cancer cell. When TRPV1 is switched on by capsaicin, the cancer cell is sent into overdrive and starts to self-destruct. As more and more cancer cells die, the tumour is stopped from growing larger. Dr Weber said: "In this study, we aimed to identify the TRP channels in different breast cancer subtypes and to investigate the effect of TRPV1 ligand [capsaicin] on breast cancer progression. "To our knowledge, no studies have yet conducted a large-scale comparative study of the TRP channels expression profiles in breast cancer cell lines. "In our experiments, a significant reduction in cell proliferation after capsaicin stimulation was observed. "This finding was in accordance with the results of other scientists, who demonstrated a significant decrease in the cell growth rate of MCF-7 breast cancer cells upon capsaicin stimulation." But capsaicin isn't effective if it's eaten, inhaled or injected. Dr Hanns Hatt, who contributed to the new research, said: "If we could switch on the TRPV1 receptor with specific drugs, this might constitute a new treatment approach for this type of cancer." And earlier studies have shown that the chemical arvanil, which has a similar chemical make-up to capsaicin, is effective against brain tumours in mice. The chemical reduces tumour growth in the animals' brains...

Natural CANCER FIGHTING Spice Reduces TUMORS By 81%. AMAZING Cancer KILLING Benefits of Curcumin

The Amazing Cancer-Fighting Benefits of Curcumin. The use of turmeric can be dated back as far as 3,000 BC, and is one of the most important anti-cancer nutrients studied today. Turmeric root can be purchased fresh in its root form (sometimes hard to find), or dried and powdered. In its dried form it is popular in Asian dishes, especially those of India, and is one of the key ingredients used in making curry powder. Curcumin is the yellow pigment extracted from turmeric and is one of three known curcuminoids in turmeric. Curcumin has demonstrated incredible anti-cancer benefits. In countries where people eat turmeric daily at about 100 to 200 mg (roughly 1-2 teaspoons) over long periods of time, research has shown there to be lower rates of certain types of cancer. As far as research into turmeric and cancer, over 2,000 published studies have shown curcumin combats cancers of the breast, prostate, liver, colon, lung, pancreas and more. Many of these studies have shown curcumin actually stops cancer cells from dividing. Curcumin has also been shown to trigger apoptosis, or programmed cell death, which is the body’s natural and necessary way of ridding itself from damaged cells. Unlike chemotherapy drugs or the breast cancer drug Tamoxifen (which by the way has been classified by the World Health Organization and the U.S. National Institutes of Health as a known human carcinogen with over 20 side-effects), curcumin has the ability to kill cancer cells while leaving healthy cells unharmed. A 2007 U.S. study using curcumin along with chemotherapy to treat bowel cancer showed that adding curcumin to the diet killed more cancer cells than chemotherapy alone. In another study, curcumin helped stop the spread of breast cancer in laboratory animals. Curcumin in some form is currently being tested in no less than 16 clinical trials on cancer, including prostate, breast, colon and osteosarcoma. Despite the fact that curcumin has been extensively researched for decades and has demonstrated clear anti-cancer power in clinical trials, it is still not widely prescribed in cancer therapy as there is little financial incentive to do so. Drug companies cannot patent natural substances, and without a patent there is no profit. The good news is that you are still able to receive many of the benefits of curcumin by using the spice turmeric liberally in your cooking and/or through supplements. Increasing the Bioavailability of Curcumin One challenge with getting enough curcumin into your diet is that it is not highly bioavailable. In other words, the human body doesn’t absorb much curcumin when it’s ingested alone. Curcumin is also not soluble in water, only in fat. Therefore, it’s best to combine turmeric with a healthy oil such as extra virgin olive or coconut oil whenever possible in recipes. (Note: never use vegetable oils such as corn, soy, canola, sunflower, etc. as these are pro-inflammatory oils, contribute to cancer, and are often rancid and genetically modified.) When combined with other powerful nutrients such as fish oil, olive or coconut oil, and/or black pepper, curcumin’s anti-cancer effects are further amplified as it becomes more readily available to the body. According to Dr. Michael Greger, MD, piperine (the phytochemical in black pepper that gives it its pungent flavor), increases the absorption of curcumin by as much as 2,000%. Apparently, even a little pinch of black pepper (as little as 1/20th of a teaspoon) can have positive and significant absorptive effects on the body. Dr. Greger also noted that eating the whole fresh turmeric root is best and mixing a natural oil with it can enhance curcumin’s delivery as much as seven to eight times. Ways to Incorporate More Turmeric (and Curcumin) into Your Diet Turmeric root has a light flavor and can be grated or chopped and added to recipes. Turmeric powder can be used on eggs, added to soups and sauces, or rubbed on vegetables or chicken. Chicken Curry is a flavorful dish that includes plenty of this bright yellow spice. Adding turmeric to vegetables and then roasting them adds both color and flavor. Coat veggies in olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper, and add turmeric, ginger, and cumin for a tasty dish. This same recipe also works great as a marinade for grilled vegetables. Be aware that turmeric contains a very strong color that can easily stain your hands, clothes, and countertops. However, it’s this intense pigment that also makes it great for adding color to plain white rice or cauliflower by sprinkling some turmeric powder on top. (Again, combine with a bit of healthy oil and a liberal sprinkle of black pepper for added benefit.) To make a healing tea, you can finely slice or grate fresh turmeric root. Add along with some grated or sliced ginger root to a teapot and steep in hot water. Sweeten your tea if desired with local honey or green leaf stevia. The longer you steep, the more intense the color and flavor of your tea.

Protect YOU AGAINST CANCER By Eating These 4 AntiCANCER Foods To Drop Your CANCER Rates Dramatically

Cancer Prevention – These Foods Are The Best Fighters Against Cancer! For many people the thought of cancer is so terrifying that they would skip this article only because they do not want to invoke the devil. Cancer takes millions of lives every year and can happen to you in any age in life and it often affects people who live completely healthy lives. But regardless, the fact is that having information on the prevention is the best thing you can do so you do not have the same fate as the others. About 33% of all cancers can be prevented through lifestyle. This refers primarily to healthy eating and physical activity. Recommendations for cancer prevention: Eat 5 meals of fresh fruit daily (a meal has about 100 grams) Reduce salt intake (max 6 grams daily) Reduce your intake of red meat (associated with colon cancer) max 500 grams a week Fiber intake from a variety of foods such as cereals, fruits and vegetables Increase physical activity Reduce the consumption of alcohol (one drink a day for women, two for men) Do not sunbathe a lot and be sure to apply sunscreen when you are on the beach Keep a normal body weight (obesity is associated with increased risk of cancer of the esophagus, pancreas, and kidney) Do not smoke cigarettes Eat more plant foods instead of animal Breastfeed because breastfeeding has many benefits for the mother and the child Which foods are the best fighters against cancer? Fruits and non-starch vegetables -- against cancer of the lungs, mouth, larynx, esophagus and stomach Carotenoids -- against cancer of the lungs, mouth, larynx and esophagus Tomato -- against prostate cancer White and red onions -- against cancer of the stomach, colon, rectum Folic acid -- against pancreatic cancer Fibers -- against cancer of the colon and the rectum Milk and calcium -- cancer of the colon and the rectum Vitamin C -- against cancer of the esophagus You can even enter the vitamins and minerals through supplements, but despite the supplements the reason why natural food is always recommended is because the fruits and vegetables contain hundreds of other phytonutrients beside vitamins which are not found in multivitamin tablets. Some of these substances are: flavonoids (from citrus, berries fruits, wine and dark chocolate), various pigments with antioxidant activity (from grapes, eggplant, radishes and red cabbage), quercetin (from apples, onions, tea and wine) carotenoids (from carrots, melons and apricots), lycopene (from tomatoes), lutein for the eyes (from spinach and kale)… Natural Cancer-Fighting Spice Reduces Tumors By 81% Used in the ancient Chinese and Indian systems of medicine, curcumin is a naturally powerful anticancer compound that has been found to decrease brain tumor size in animals by 81 percent in more than 9 studies. A derivative of turmeric, curcumin is the pigment responsible for turmeric’s yellow-orange color. Each 100 grams of turmeric contains around 3 to 5 grams of curcumin, though turmeric is a also very powerful on its own. New studies are shedding light on curcumin, and illuminating its numerous benefits on cancer and other diseases. Researchers experimenting with curcumin in the treatment of a fatal brain cancer known as glioblastoma (GBMs) published their groundbreaking findings in the Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry in July. Adding scientific basis to previous findings surrounding the positive effects of curcumin, they showed that the compound dramatically decreased brain tumors in 9 out of the 11 studies examined by 81 percent. Furthermore, there was no evidence of toxicity, whereas chemotherapy and other cancer treatments often result in extreme side effects that are sometimes worse than the actual disease. Curcumin is not only effective against brain cancer, however. According to a study conducted in 2008 and published in Cancer Prevention Research, curcumin also inhibits the growth and spread of breast cancer cells by directly impacting the function of alpha6beta4 integrin, responsible for cancer progression. Another study, performed in 2010, found that curcumin also has the potential to target cancer stem cells. Following the wave of information of curcumin, researchers who posted their findings in Molecular Pharmacology classified curcumin as a pancreatic cancer cell inhibitor back in 2009. Even more interesting is the fact that in most of these studies the researchers concluded that curcumin may also aid many different types of cancer that were not included in the trials. While an amazing anticancer substance, studies have also pinpointed curcumin as a tool against more than 572 other diseases. Some of these include, in order of study count: oxidative stress, inflammation, DNA damage, lipid peroxidation, chemically-induced liver disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and liver fibrosis. Curcumin has even been found to influence more than 700 genes, which could explain its link to DNA repair.

Stop Tumor Growth & KILL CANCER CELLS Naturally with Quercetin, the Most Powerful CANCER KILLER

Quercetin, Cancer Killers - The Most Effective Supplements For Killing Cancer! Quercetin occurs naturally in a variety of brightly colored plant-based foods. This flavonoid compound has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and may help lower the risk of cancer and heart disease while decreasing blood pressure. A diet that includes plenty of foods with a high content of quercetin will also be rich in dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals and other antioxidant compounds. Stir in Capers According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, capers contain one of the highest natural concentrations of quercetin. Canned capers, which are the salt-brined flower buds of the Capparis spinosa plant, contain 173 milligrams of quercetin in every 3.5 ounces, or 14.8 milligrams in a typical 1-tablespoon serving. Use capers in salads, dips, pasta dishes and as a flavor-enhancing addition to sauces for seafood or poultry. Capers are high in sodium. To decrease their sodium content and control the saltiness they add to foods, rinse them thoroughly before using. Sprinkle on Onions All types of onions are high in quercetin. Raw red onions contain 33.4 milligrams of the compound in every 3.5 ounces, while raw white onions supply 21.4 milligrams, scallions have 18.3 milligrams and fresh sweet onions contain 14.8 milligrams. Cooked onions have 24.4 milligrams of the compound in each 3.5-ounce serving. To get the most quercetin out of your onions, use them promptly after purchase. Onions can lose more than 25 percent of their quercetin content if they're stored over a week. Fill Up on Fruit Fruits with a dark red or blue hue have the highest quercetin content. These include cranberries, which contain 15 milligrams in every 3.5 ounces; raw black plums, with 12.5 milligrams per serving; and blueberries, which have 5 milligrams. Chokeberries, black currants, apples and cherries are also good sources of quercetin. A 2002 article published in "Nutrition" reported that foods prepared by boiling lost a significant amount of quercetin due to contact with heat and water. Whenever possible, eat quercetin-rich fruits raw or only lightly cooked. Vary Your Veggies Raw hot green chile peppers have nearly 15 milligrams of quercetin in every 3.5 ounces. Red leaf lettuce contains 12 milligrams per serving, while raw kale has 7.7 milligrams and cooked asparagus 7.6 milligrams in a 3.5-ounce serving. Romaine lettuce, chicory greens, raw spinach, sweet peppers, snap beans and raw broccoli range in quercetin content from 2.4 to 5 milligrams contained in 3.5 ounces of the food. How Much Quercetin Do You Take for an Anti-inflammatory Response? Quercetin is a flavonoid antioxidant found in many fruits and vegetables. It serves a variety of important health effects and has been used successfully for its cholesterol-lowering, anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory benefits. Aside from dietary sources, you can obtain quercetin in supplement form and it can often be found in formulas together with other anti-inflammatory compounds, such as bromelain, grape seed and green tea. Consult your physician before taking any supplement. COPD Quercetin prevented progression of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, COPD, in a study conducted at the Department of Pediatrics and Communicable Diseases, University of Michigan. In the study, researchers gave laboratory animals 0.5 milligrams per day for 10 days and noted improved lung elasticity, decreased oxidation and decreased inflammation. Quercitin also decreased levels of tissue-damaging enzymes known as matrix metalloproteinases. The study was published in the September 2010 issue of the journal "Respiratory Research." Nitric Oxide Researchers at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Chungbuk National University, Korea, reported that quercetin doses of 10 milligrams per kilogram of body weight — which is a higher than normal for human use — produced anti-inflammatory effects in laboratory animals. Scientists administered the high dose of quercetin using a tube-feeding method called gavage once per day for three days, as a way to saturate the tissues. Quercetin exerted its effects, in part, by inhibiting nitric oxide production in white blood cells known as macrophages, reducing nitric oxide levels by half. The antioxidant also reduced the inflammatory response involving neutrophils, another type of white blood cell. Researchers concluded significant anti-inflammatory potential for quercetin in this preliminary animal study, published in the September 2008 issue of the "Journal of Veterinary Science." Prostate Inflammation Quercetin has been used to reduce inflammation in prostate conditons for its anti-inflammatory and anti-testosterone effects, according to Jeannette Potts, M.D., in her book "Genitourinary Pain and Inflammation: Diagnosis and Management." The antioxidant decreases levels of inflammatory prostaglandins and increases levels of prostatic endorphins — natural pain-relieving molecules.
